Dangerous Curves checks out Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns

The Curves are enjoying a short summer break and met up with friends on Monday night to check out the local band, Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns at the Palms in The Lounge. We were absolutely captivated by this stunning show of outstanding voices, musicians and performances. These guys have the exciting sound of Tower of Power, blended with the contemporary arrangements and vocal harmonies of today. The arrangement of the Beatles song, "Come Together" was positively thrilling! We feel so energized and inspired to work on some of our newest arrangements. Thanks, guys!!! The whole evening was made even more enjoyable by sharing it with some of our nearest and dearest friends, Jen and Todd Vigiletti, producers,Stargazer Productions, out of Orange County, CA and husbands all around. By the way, we are so proud that Gret's husband, Michael, is a regular in the band! All in all, a perfect evening of stellar music and the ones we love! How could a hot summer night get any better?! June Blooms With Curves and Hot Summer Nights

The Curves had a fantastic time as the Guest Artists for the Hot Summerlin Nights Guest Artist Series in Summerlin. The host of this event was Grace In the Desert and a great time was had by all, especially us!

The venue was lovely, with big open windows that allowed the sun to shine through and really bring a heavenly feel to the room. Talk about earthly inspiration!

This was a unique show for us as we had no band and only our tracks. In these economic times, we are learning to be extremely resourceful. While our preference, goal and desire is to have live music at all times, the fact of the matter is that in order to bring our music to as many people as possible, we have to remain open minded. It certainly does make us stay on our toes! Stay tuned for the release date (FINALLY) of our CD! And, do your best to stay cool and curvy in these hot summer months.

April Comes and Goes! What??!!!

I can't believe it's almost May!  This month flew by and really it's no wonder. The Curves were beyond busy this month and a fabulous month we had!  I was trying to wait for the video to be finished ( editing, that is) and my husband is working like crazy on it-but it just takes time.  So, instead of waiting to write about our show, I will simply carry on and then post more at a later date.

We wrote and produced what is, without a doubt, our best show to date. We added new songs, had dresses made and made our first (real) lighting chart.  It was very exciting and a real success. Some of our new material included Jason Robert Brown's "Hear My Song", Scott Alan's "Let Love Begin" and even a comedy song, "Girl in 14G"!  Who knew the Curves can sing-dance and be funny!  I am so thrilled with our hard work and it is really paying off.  We are feeling some real momentum with our soon-to-be commercially released CD (just finishing up the licensing), new costumes and video.  

In addition, this weekend, we had the privilege of singing for some our country's heros at the Veteran's Home in Boulder City.  What a sweet and loving crowd!  These are the men and women who fought for our freedom and as they sang along with us to God Bless America, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.  It really makes you feel blessed to live in the United States and proud to be an American.  Pictured with us is the lovely Angela, who booked us for this job!  Thanks, Angela for the great food and treats!

The Curves had another fabulous day of a really fantastic week!  Today, we had the honor and pleasure to perform one of our songs (probably one of our most requested) Moonriver, with the Oh-So-Fabulous Kellie Wright!  She did her cabaret show, with some of her talented friends (pictured from top left-Cyndi Lee, Kellie Wright, Carlo Driggs-Audrei with the Curves down front).

Let me tell you friends, this lady can sing and entertain like nobody's business!  Great song choices like "Hard Hearted Hannah" and "Cry Me a River" with Kellie's bluesy, toasty warm tones were absolute hits with the audience.  Her friends performed great songs as well and all were polished and professional.  Her band was awesome with Tony Bronco on the piano, Geoff Newman on stand up bass and Barry Farley on the drums.  They really sounded great-of course, Tony Bronco is one of our faves too! It totally made us excited for our performance on April 19th! And, as always, have a super curvalicious day and a fabulous week!

The Girls of Dangerous Curves with the Swing City Dolls.

Hello Friends!  Yes, its been a while, which may lead you to believe that not much is going on....NOTHING could be further from the truth!  In fact, we have been so busy preparing for shows, working on our marketing and licensing our CD for commercial release!  We have jumped on the twitter band wagon and you can follow our tweets at twitter!  

We have the Suncoast Hit Parade coming up next week on Thursday at the gorgeous Suncoast Hotel in Summerlin and the lovely Robin Vincent hosting.  Then, on Sunday we are making an appearance with the fabulous and talented Kellie Wright at the Flamingo Library Theatre.  She has graciously invited us to sing one of our songs and promote our show.  She will be doing her own version of jazz and blues that should not be missed!  

Our show at the Flamingo Library Theatre is Sunday, April 19th at 2pm and the tickets are $15 at the door.  It is going to be an exciting show with all your favorites and several new songs that we are so excited about!  We are going to have a live band and perhaps our new costumes will be ready!  OMG!  That just made me feel so excited!  Nothing better than a new dress and singing great songs with your friends!  We are so lucky, 'cuz we really are friends.  Sometimes our rehearsals are therapy sessions!  We talk about life and love and kids and husbands and music and somehow it just makes things better to talk to each other.

Our East Coast gig!

The Girls were at it again with their first East Coast gig at the start of what promises to be a fabulous year!  We were the entertainment for a private party celebrating the 80th birthday of the lovely and sweet Maizie (Mae Tabor).

Lisa and I took off mid morning from Las Vegas for a fairly easy, but long couple of flights to Connecticut. We flew Continental and the service on both flights was fabulous and friendly (Gret has family there so she and her husband, Michael flew out the day before).  When we arrived, the temperature was like 2 degrees!  Literally, TWO! Wow!  However, it was kinda fun in a I-don't-live-in-this-everyday kind of way. :-)  

Gret and Michael picked us up and drove us to our accommodations for the next 2 days.  We knew it was a guest house......but honestly!  This was absolutely one of the loveliest places I have EVER stayed in!  To say that it was clean and gorgeous would be like saying the White House is "nice"!  And, they had a care package of wine and grapes and cheese and gluten free things and OMG!  We were, in all ways, beautifully taken care of and truly appreciated.

The gig itself was filled with emotion and really had some great moments. Our Judy Garland medley and probably Moonriver were definite audience favorites and we even did a special request song for Maizie (Let There Be Peace On Earth) and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.  What a truly wonderful moment to be a part of, with so many family and friends showing their love and respect to a woman who has lived a live of goodness, taken care of her loved ones and treated friends as though they were family.  

The kind of woman we aspire to be.

CD release party!

There are lots of curves going on in these pictures!  All Dangerous!  We had the most wonderful friend, family and fan-filled day at our very first CD release party.  From here to cyber-land, we had people in and out all day to pose for pictures, leave messages on Facebook and even purchase our CD "girl talk".  We truly could not be more grateful, thankful and thrilled at the turn out of love and support.  

We drank lovely Champagne and Sangria and Pink Punch (made by our Curve, Lisa-OF COURSE, it was pink!) and feasted on delicious treats, mostly made possible by the oh-so-talented Gret, who not only sings like a Broadway diva, but cooks like Martha Stewart!
